This wonderful love song by Dire Straits once again proves that is the most beautiful rock ballad that can make a wonderful combination of music magic.

The Blest Nest is a duo band formed in 2019 by the musicians Blerina Shera and Stefano di Matteo from Italy. Blerina has the vocal position in this duo band and on the other side is Stefano who playing on the guitar.

“We share a common passion for music other than being a couple in life,” Blerina has said for our blog. How they found their band name and what that means, read below to find out.

“The Blest Nest” is a wordsplay that comes from our names combined, Blerina and Stefano. We searched on Google “Blest” and it showed us “The Blest Nest” as a result. Immediately we liked the meaning and we chose it precisely because it encloses the importance of music in the couple,” she added.

“We make covers trying to elaborate what we listen to and make it our own. Also, we think this is the way to keep the music alive even by making covers. In this way the songs travel through time, constantly renewing themselves according to the interpreter. By mixing our traits together we try to come up with a sound as “sincere” as possible.”

Stefano has a background of acoustic fingerstyle guitar while Blerina has a background of soul and jazz. “Dire Straits are an inspiration for our music. They have a sound that you can recognize between all the others. Through their music, they have the capacity to tell a story that becomes like a movie, magic. ‘Romeo and Juliet’ is a song that I always listen to when I am very sad because it makes me feel peaceful and safe,” Blerina said.

“For Stefano, Mark Knopfler is a guitar hero and therefore he felt inspired while trying to arrange the guitar, aiming at the essence, without copying its style. You can listen to our music on our YouTube channel, Facebook, or Instagram. We played it our way and we hope that you like it, have a good listen!” she finished.
