Heres is a well-known French musician, guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He is a longtime fan of the music of Dire Straits and is also a reader of our blog.
When he was only 15-years-old, he got his first guitar, a classical black Stratocaster on which he trained for several years. He is singing both in English and French. In December 2019 HERES released his first song in English with the title “Loving Me Again”.
Today, we would like to share with you another great video cover by HERES. This time that’s the song “Iron Hand” by Dire Straits released in 1991 on their On Every Street album.
Heres has recorded this video cover in July 2020 and released it on his official YouTube channel, where the video received a lot of positive comments and reactions.
This video lasts only 3 minutes and 20 seconds, but the sound quality and performance of the video itself are at a high level, which confirms the fact that a lot of effort and professionalism has been invested by Heres.
Thanks to our team and the collaboration that we have with Heres, he shared some more information about the video for our blog.
“For some reason, I’ve always had Iron Hand in my head ever since it came out in 1991. There is such a heavy atmosphere in it that I couldn’t explain. That picking pattern with the acoustic guitar is something addictive, it goes on and on during the entire song. And of course, the subject is very serious and goes so well with the song, once again Mark proved that he is a very talented songwriter.”
“I’m happy with the cover as I really wanted to recreate it with the same mood. For the pedal steel part, I used an electric guitar with a bottleneck and I believe it works pretty well,” Heres has finished.
