The ex-bassist of Dire Straits, John Illsley last year delivered to us an incredible book about the days when he was in Dire Straits. The book is now out and you can get it, but what is new from John Illsley for this year, keep reading and find out.

Back in May 2021 in social media was news that John Illsley started working on his new music material at the British Grove Studios. At that time, in Studio 2 were also Mark Knopfler and Guy Fletcher working on something new. This has been confirmed by Guy Fletcher, on his official website, where he actually has a Q&A with his fans.

He wrote: “Yes, John was in mixing last week. I wasn’t involved as I’ve been in Studio 2 with Mark the whole time. We did of course have (socially distanced) lunches together all week which was lovely.” This was stated on Fletcher’s website in the category with the name ‘General discussion’ on May 17th, 2021.

All in all, now we can put the dice together and officially confirm that the new album by John Illsley is almost here. John Illsley has confirmed that his 8th album ‘VIII’ will be out on 11th February 2022. You can also click HERE and preorder it now!
