The phenomenal frontman of Dire Straits, Mark Knopfler has celebrated the 20th anniversary of his iconic album, ‘Sailing to Philadelphia.’

The Instagram team of the British legend has taken the page of him to recall the release of the great album. 20 years ago with a restored version of Mark’s old performance on BBC’s Parkinson, in 2000.

Sharing a short clip from Knopfler’s performance to the lead single, “What It Is,” from his second solo studio album the social media team of him announced that the full video is on Knopfler’s YouTube channel now.

The successful album of Knopfler was released on 26 September 2000 by Vertigo Records internationally, and by Warner Bros. Records in the United States. The album contains featured vocal performances by James Taylor, Van Morrison, and Chris Difford and Gelnn Tilbrook of Squeeze.

“To mark the 20th anniversary of ‘Sailing To Philadelphia,’ watch a newly restored clip of Mark performing the album track ‘What It Is’ on BBC’s Parkinson, in 2000. The performance can be watched in full on Mark’s YouTube channel.”
