Mark Knopfler sang “Money for Nothing” with Dire Straits, but his daughter Issy is determined to earn a living through hard work.
The 22-year-old is making waves as an actress after landing a role in Everything I Ever Wanted to Tell My Daughter About Men. Starring Jason Isaacs and Alan Cumming, it’s an anthology of 23 short films which traces a woman’s relationship history backwards.
Issy – who grew up in London with Knopfler, and her novelist mother Kitty Aldridge has found happiness off-screen with the actor Charlie Field, 26 who played Prince Harry in the TV drama Harry and Meghan: Becoming Royal. He makes her ‘the happiest girl alive’, she says.
Having inherited her father’s love of Rock N’ Roll, Issy publicly pleaded with him to perform at Glastonbury where she’s a regular festival-goer.
“Come on, Dad, make your daughter happy,” she said. How about a post-crisis Dire Straits reunion at Glastonbury 2021?
