Sonia Figueiredo is a 45-years-old woman and artist from the United Kingdom. She made the first colored portrait of Mark Knopfler last year in October. Today, it’s our pleasure to present to you her second colored portrait of Mark Knopfler.
Definitely, Sonia has an amazing talent for paintings and coloring and she shows it through her second portrait. For our blog, she told us a long story short about the love that she has with Dire Straits.
“It was 13th of July 1985, I was 9 years old but I remember it as if it was today. I was seating on the sofa with my father watching one of the biggest events in the history of music, “Live Aid”. As it was being transmitted live on the TV, I was praying for Dire Straits to perform while I was awake. It was a Saturday at 18:00h o’clock when Mark showed up on our TV and I believe it was at that moment that everything started for me,” Sonia added.
“The image of Mark on the “Live Aid” is something I have and I will always have present in my memory. And now, I’ll have it a little bit closer to my heart with this drawing,” she finished.
