Albums by Queen, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Dire Straits and Phil Collins revealed as the biggest selling of all time in the UK.

A list of the biggest selling albums of all time in the UK has been released. Until now, many music legends are still on the top of that list.

The country’s Official Albums Chart began 62 years ago on 22 July 1955, with Frank Sinatra’s – ‘Songs for Swinging Lovers’ taking the first top spot on 22 July that year. The first ever chart was published in Record Mirror on that day.

Since then, 1100 albums have reached the coveted no.1 spot – and the UK’s all-time favorite album has been revealed as Queen’s – Greatest Hits which launched in 1981. Also in the top 10 are Abba, The Beatles, Oasis, Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd and Dire Straits with the legendary album – ‘Brothers in Arms’ from 1985.
