Mark Knopfler has added two new London gigs (dates) to his world tour. The former front man of Dire Straits now will play a couple of dates at the Royal Albert Hall on May 21-22, 2019.
It comes after his previously announced show at the O2, which will take place on May 28, moved closer to selling out, having now shifted more than 13,000 tickets.
Speaking of the tour, the 69-year-old Knopfler said: “My songs are made to be performed live. I love the whole process of writing them alone and then recording them with the band, but ultimately the best part from whole process is playing them in front of audience in live.”
“I enjoy the whole circus, traveling from town to town and interacting with this group of players is total pleasure. I’m really looking forward to it,” he added.
Last November, Knopfler released his ninth solo studio album called ‘Down the Road Wherever’. It was the latest step in a career which has seen him sell more than 120 million albums across both his solo and Dire Straits discography.
