This is a live performance by Mark Knopfler from the German historic music hall Meistersaal in Berlin, Germany played on 10th September. The video is filmed and broadcasted by the German TV station RBB.
Mark Knopfler played a few teasers in a pre-tour showcase from his at the time soon to be released fifth studio album called “Kill to Get Crimson” as well as other hits taken from previous albums.
Mark Knopfler has played live all around in the world, but this performance by far is his best rendition that we all have seen. Such sensitivity. The Berlin audience attended to something very special, and the Les Paul is venerated by guitarists everywhere but no one wrenches its mellowness quite like Mark Knopfler.
In the video below you can see how much are beautiful the slurred phrases played over the harmony and in the interval between his voice and the pause in his trademark. This is the type of music that if you close your eyes and start listening, you simply can’t stop, it brings an incredible peace, it is a masterpiece. Watch the video and enjoy it!
