Back in 1983 when Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler had amazing time and they were on the top of many music lists, the audience and newspapers constantly wrote news about them.
Today we found one old part from one newspaper from 14 April 1983. Down below you will see the text and picture who were that part of the news, but unfortunately we do not know from which newspaper is this news. However the title it was “Knopfler Scores Again” and this it was written below the text:
“Fun’s fun, but it’s hard to imagine how Mark Knopfler finds the time for air hockey. The Dire Straits guitarist spearheaded the two Straits releases currently on the charts and more recently issued a solo single “Going Home (Theme of ‘Local Hero’),” a brilliant, stirring instrumental taken from his score to the new Bill Forsyth movie, ‘Local Hero’. He’s also set to produce Bob Dylan’s record when the Straits world tour takes a break. Reportedly playing on that much-talked about LP will be the top reggae rhythm section of Sly Dunbar and Robby Shakespeare, plus former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor. That should keep Mark out of the arcades for a while”.
After the text which was in the news for Mark and Dire Straits, also was the picture from the young Mark Knopfler where he played air hockey with someone. The picture had description which was written “Knopfler gets in some preconcert recreation at a leisure center in Wales”.
