Eric Clapton has been announced to perform at British Summer Time 2018 festival in Hyde Park. The legendary guitarist is the latest star to join the festival series’ line-up, following Roger Waters, Bruno Mars and Michael Bublé.
Clapton will top the bill at the festival on July 8, 2018. Tickets are selling fast, so you can have bought here.
The former Cream and Yardbirds musician will be supported by Santana and Steve Winwood on the day. Clapton is no stranger to performing at Hyde Park, after playing to 120,000 people with his group Blind Faith 48 years ago.
“I have happy memories of performing in Hyde Park in the past and I’m really looking forward to playing there again – the whole atmosphere is very special”, said Clapton.
As well as embarking on projects with Derek & the Dominos and John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, Clapton has experienced huge success as a solo artist, releasing 23 solo studio albums over the last five decades. His most recent album ‘I Still Do’ reached number six in the UK album chart in 2016.
