Dire Straits Blog this time want to propose you an amazing movie based on a true story in the main role with the great movie star Jamie Foxx. Another weekend with you, another movie proposes to you!

‘Ray’ is a biographical drama and music movie from 2004 in the main role with Jamie Foxx which plays as Ray Charles the pioneer of the Soul music and one of the first musicians who started to mix this genre of music with blues rhythm, jazz, and country.

This movie is focused on the 30-years of the life of Ray Charles, and how his story and music career made Ray be one of the greatest musicians in the world. This movie lasts 2 hours and 32 minutes, and we can say that it is worth watching.

Interesting facts: Jamie Foxx received an Academy Award for best actor for his performance, Golden Globe, BAFTA, Screen Actors Guild, and Critics’ Choice awards. He becomes the second actor to win all five major lead actor awards for the same performance, and the only one to win the Golden Globe in the Musical or Comedy category. In the whole movie, Jamie played the piano in all scenes himself and he had to wear eye prosthetics that really make him blind up for 14 hours a day during shooting.

Denzel Washington was first approached to play the title role but he does not pass on the project. Ray Charles was set to attend an opening of the completed film, but he died of liver disease in June of 2004 – several months before the movie premiere. Take a look at the movie trailer below, and enjoy!
