“There are so many songs, that have not seen the “light of day”. The whole thing is to make good songs and the power of those songs to be even better recorded. That is the one of the success formulas in the music industry, same like in math”, said Mark.
This is one beautifully crafted short film created by Danish director Henrik Hansen. Down below in the video that lasts 5 minutes, you will see the footage from Mark’s Biritsh Grove Studio where he recorded some of his songs from his eight solo album “Tracker”. All that he is doing in his studio is trying to keep the best from the old, and incorporate that to create the best from the new, and some of the old stuff sounds amazing.
To make combinations is necessary for one good song to go out from the studio and to touch the hearts of the fans. The different pieces of music who react to each other, sound beautifully and make one nice melody. The smell of tape, microphones, guitars and speakers…that is the engine of one good and happy master like Mark Knopfler.
“We try to write good songs, and try to make good records. The whole package makes it all an extremely pleasurable experience to make records. And then the song walks out of the door and goes off to have a life of its own. And then to go out and maybe play it for people to complete the circuit and that’s what keeps it exciting”, added Mark.
