Russian guitarist and teacher for guitar – Pavel Fomenkov made another new lesson for all fans of Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits.

“Private Dancer” is song written by Mark Knopfler, and it was intended to be on Dire Straits fourth studio album “Love Over Gold”, but the song was produced by John Carter for Tina Turner’s fifth solo album “Private Dancer” from 1984.

Released as the fifth single, track reached number seven on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number three on the US R&B chart. The song had moderate international success, reaching number 26 on the UK Singles Chart.

When Mark Knopfler started to sung this song he considered that the lyrics is unsuitable for male singer and that is the reason why this song is given to Tina Turner. So, the track was cut from Dire Straits 1982 album “Love Over Gold”, and two years later, this unusual song which everybody thinks that is about hooker was sung by Tina Turner. She’s version is really quite beautiful and it is very arty song.

Pavel Fomenkov last time got some negative comments about his singing, and because of that he decided to made lesson version of one of the hardest Mark’s songs. He clearly in the video below told that his lessons are not about singing, those are about playing guitar.

Below is the video of 10-minutes and Pavel will show you all the things that you probably must know to play this song on your acoustic guitar, enjoy!
