Today we have one comedy and drama film named “Almost Famous” from 2000. The movie tells the fictional story of a teenage journalist writing for Rolling Stone magazine in the early 70s while covering the fictitious rock band Stillwater and his efforts to get his first cover story.
The movie is written and directed by Cameron Crowe and the movie is semi-autobiographical and is it based on Crowe’s experiences with rock bands Poco, The Allman Brothers Band, Led Zeppelin, Eagles, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
He has discussed how during that period he lost his virginity, fell in love and met his heroes. The movie had received four Oscar nominations one of which led to an award to Crowe for his screenplay. “Almost Famous” movie is ranked as 9th best movie of the 2000s, won two Golden Globes and in 2016 international poll conducted by BBC ranked this movie as 79th greatest movie since 2000.
