Allan de Angeles is a professional musician from Brazil. Since 1993 his profession is music. Today, he is known under the name Deangeles which he also uses it for his band.

At the end of the 90s, he left the band that he used to play original songs. After that, he has started a solo career. For all Dire Straits Blog readers, he shared some of his stories.

During the period of quarantine, Allan has made a cover version of the song “Down to The Waterline,” by Dire Straits.

“One of my greatest influences always has been Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler. When I left the band at the end of the 90s I started with learning some instruments by myself. My first instrument was the guitar and I tried to make a one-man-band project.”

“On my YouTube channel, the fans can find some of my original songs as well as the covers that I have made. Music is just a hobby of mine,” he added.

“I always wanted to play some of the Dire Straits songs from their first or second albums. “Sultans of Swing” would be such a cliché, so that’s why I choose “Down to The Waterline.” About a month ago I started to work on this cover video. After all, last week I recorded the video in my home studio, enjoying the quarantine atmosphere, alone and isolated,” he finished.
