Koray Uygur is a 42-years-old amateur musician and professional mechanical engineer from Turkey. He started playing guitar at the university. As he told us, he found a Dire Straits cover band in his university. The band was named “Straggler Knights,” and at the time he was a part of the band.
Most of the time he played as a rhythm guitarist as well as a vocal musician. His friend played a lot of the solos by Mark Knopfler.
“We’ve played in spring festivals at our university. After that I started to work in the engineering industry and lately I formed some bands playing songs by Eric Clapton, Dire Straits, and some other rock classics,” he added.
Today, he fulfilled his dream that he dreamed of years ago when he stepped into music. Koray is very happy that at the beginning of his engineering career in 2005 in İzmit, he cut off to the song “Loneliness,” which he wrote one night.
Besides his professional debut with his own song, Koray has made an acoustic Dire Straits cover version from the song “Iron Hand.” You can listen to his cover down below.
“I’m very happy that I started to produce my own songs and to be heard by the people today. I have songs in Sound Cloud and one professional release at Spotify, YouTube, and iTunes. I hope that you’ll find something from your own story in the notes and lyrics,” he finished.
