The video below is a full video in length of 5-minutes-and-41-seconds, where you can listen to the two amazing and legendary solos by David Gilmour and Mark Knopfler.
Namely, David Gilmour the guitarist of Pink Floyd had three concerts in a row at the Royal Albert Hall in London, the UK – at the end of May of 2006 and during those concerts he played many of his songs including the songs from the Pink Floyd era. The first solo in the video below is in the performance of David Gilmour where he played the solo from the song “Fat Old Sun.”
Right after Gilmour’s solo, follows Mark Knopfler from his live concert “A Night in London” which he performed back in 1996, 20 years before David Gilmour’s solo.
Mark played the solo from the song “Sultans of Swing” and is incredible when you can listen to these two legendary solos in one video. You can make a decision on which solo is a better one, but you should know that these are two different styles, and Mark and David are different melodic and emotional in their style of playing and performing. From our estimation those solos are legendary and both of them are great. Enjoy!
