Mark Knopfler Presented Sam Fender with Atkin Acoustic Guitar

On April 27th, 2022, Mark Knopfler presented Sam Fender with an Atkin acoustics guitar painted by Ian Ward.

The whole event happened when Sam Fender – the English singer, songwriter, and musician, was promoted as an ambassador of The Buddy Holly Foundation while working on a project for the charities Teenage Cancer and Teenage Cancer America.

Besides, Mark Freuder Knopfler OBE became an Ambassador for The Buddy Holly Foundation in 2019. The mission of this educational foundation is to honor Buddy’s legacy as well as to make Buddy and Maria Elena Holly’s dream of extending musical education including:

• Songwriting,
• production
• arranging
• orchestration
• performance.

All of the above is the goal of the mission of this organization. Mostly this is important for the new generations, regardless of income or ethnicity, or learning levels.

This organization has many famous stars and musicians, guitarists, and world-famous and legendary vocalists as ambassadors. Besides Knopfler, there are Bob Dylan, Sir Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Emmylou Harris, Eric Clapton, Sir Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl, and others.
