Paul Eastham is a pianist, composer, singer and songwriter, and frontman of a touring rock band called ‘Coast’. He is originally from Stockport, UK and he is born in July 1981. Paul has a classical piano background with a very prestigious musical lineage.

During his early teens, Paul gave recitals of Rachmaninov, Chopin, and many other classical greats but abandoned his career as a concert pianist at the age of 18 to pursue songwriting and composing. This led to many experiences including becoming a producer of music and working with artists such as Duffy and others early in their career.

He also has performed on international stages and support concerts with artists such as Bryan Adams, Paul Brady, The Kaiser Chiefs, Alphabeat, Arlo Guthrie, and many more across Europe and the USA.

Today, Paul lives in Denmark and in the video below, which he posted on his YouTube channel, you’ll have a chance to listen to how it sounds the song ‘Going Home’ by Mark Knopfler from the movie Local Hero. The video is uploaded on December 16, 2015.

Namely, Paul wrote: “Yes, you guessed it. This is a song by Mark Knopfler “Going Home” from the album “Local Hero” played on Mozart’s actual Violin. I sampled the violin from a radio show where it was being played and I cut up the notes and turned them usable parts, not samples. I played them back using a NI contact player. If you think I ruined a great track, just listen to the end. I am sure all will be forgiven,” he finished.
