The Walk of Life Project is created by video editor and writer Peter Salomone. This project is a vast collection of the final moments of some of cinema’s classics films, all with their final moments overlaid by that classic song from Dire Straits – “Walk of Life”.
Who doesn’t love “Walk of Life”? Even if you don’t know the Dire Straits song “Walk of Life” by name you’ll recognize it immediately when you hear it. Fun fact: It’s the perfect song to end any movie.
It doesn’t matter who you are, where you are or what you are doing, once those iconic classic rhythms from Dire Straits song have come in your ears, you can’t help but to start to feel something.
Peter had simple hypothesis for this he said – “Walk of life is the best song for any movie to improve any ending”.
One his friend joked about that “Walk of Life” is a perfect funeral song, so Peter had an idea for project. Being a student of the scientific method, and after thinking about his idea for two years Salomone set out to prove his theory by adding song from Dire Straits to the finales of dozens of films.
“Slap the “Walk of Life” to the end of any movie and it immediately becomes 400 percent better. That’s just science”, added Peter.
Salomone’s project which he named “Walk of Life Project” has tasted the theory on all sorts of films, from best classics like Casablanca to all documentaries and animated films like The Lion King, as well as modern like Dark Knight Rises and Spiderman.
