Mike DiFiore is a 31-year-old guitarist, songwriter, music producer, and recording engineer from London, UK. Today, we would like to present you his video cover of the song by Dire Straits, “Sultans of Swing”.
At the beginning of March this year (2021), we have shared a cover video of the song “Tunnel of Love” in a performance by Mike. Today, we would like to share with all our readers his first cover video. The word is about the classic hit song “Sultans of Swing” by Dire Straits.
10-years ago, back on November 4, 2011, Mike made this cover version and the video went viral on YouTube. Until now this video cover has more than 1.9 million views and 26,000 likes on YouTube. Around 2,300 comments are mostly positive on this cover.
For now, Mike has released one official solo album which was influenced by Mark Knopfler. This is a very interesting story because it has a good connection between Mike, Knopfler, and Dire Straits. This video cover is recorded in Mike’s home studio. He played on his Fender electric guitar. The performance is very good as well as the sound in the background. Check out the video cover down below.
Also, there is one more video cover of “Sultans of Swing” in a performance by Mike DiFiore. The video below is a live version of SOS, uploaded in 2017. Here is what Mike has written about it:
“While I was working as a Sound Tech in Portugal, I was able to perform every two weeks. I filmed and uploaded each performance but kept them private until I was happy with one, which I made public and said I wouldn’t be uploading any more until I perform it with a band.”
“However, I received a fair few comments about my tuning (quite rightly) and my apparent lack of confidence (again, a fair observation). I, therefore, feel that this (the final performance of the season) is the best performance despite a few mistakes, so I’m replacing the previous one with this.”
