Today’s blog article we dedicate to a musician and our fan and follower from Brazil. Namely, Talisson Ferreira is a self-taught musician, who is currently living in the city of Sumaré, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. Our team has recognized his talent through the IGTV video where Talisson played the song “Sultans of Swing” on his Fender electric guitar. Actually, you will have a chance to listen to his cover video down below.
Because of his good video performance, we have decided to make a short interview with him. Also, with this blog-post, we would like to introduce Talisson to our fans, followers, and community on DSB.
Talisson is a 30-years-old self-taught musician who is giving guitar lessons and currently is playing with his band called Banda Molotov. For Dire Straits Blog he shares some interesting parts of his life story.
“I learned to play guitar at the age of 8, through my godfather who taught me the first chords on the guitar. After that, I went deeper into the guitar, and I was always self-taught,” he said.
Talisson’s main and biggest musical influences are Mark Knopfler, Jimi Hendrix, Clapton, B.B. King, John Frusciante, and John Mayer. “The reason for having these five artists as the main ones for me, it’s because they reinvented the way of making music, and with the simplicity they made history,” he added.
As he said, without any intention he started with making cover videos. The reason was to show the friends that he likes that. So far, Talisson has made only five video covers which most are uploaded on his Instagram profile.
The first time when Talisson has heard a song from Dire Straits was a long time ago, on his grandparents’ farm. “It was a vinyl record, I remember I was about 5 years old…and the song was ‘Money for Nothing’. My first cover video of Dire Straits was with the song ‘Sultans of Swing’ which I did on April 24, 2020.”
“Music is something that I use to touch people’s hearts. Because of that, I’m planning to make more video covers from Dire Straits songs. Maybe that would be ‘Romeo and Juliet’ or ‘Postcards from Paraguay’,” he added.
What is your motto in life and what motivates you to continue with good vibes and positive energy in life?
“My motto is: Never give up dreaming, and never let a sad day end most of my good days. And what motivates me is to know that life is passing quickly and that we must live intensely every day.”
In the end, for all Dire Straits Blog fans and followers, he said: “Friends, if you have a dream, big or small, go for it. Dedicate as much as you can, make it count, and always try to do good, practicing true love! For love is the greatest gift of all! A big hug from Talisson!” he finished.
