The Guitar Hero – games series is one of the most popular video games in the first decade of the 21st century. This game is a series of music rhythm games which was first published in 2005 in which players use a guitar-shaped game controller to simulate playing guitar and rhythm guitar across numerous classic popular rock music songs.
The first game in the series was made on a budget of $1million. The series became extremely successful. This series of video games has sold more than 25milion unites worldwide, earning $2bilion at retail, and with that this game made to be the 3rd largest game franchise after the Mario and Madden NFL franchises.
Also, the third main title of the series Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is the first single video game to exceed $1 billion in sales.
