Our dear friend, guitarist, and a loyal fan of Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler is back again on Dire Straits Blog with a new video cover.
This time, Jake Thistle, who has long been considered as one of the best young potential guitarists, arouses our emotions again with his new video cover posted on YouTube on May 5th, 2021.
Namely, Jake has made a full 12-minutes video cover of the song “Brothers in Arms” by Dire Straits. This video cover Jake has dedicated in honor of a friend and a long memory of a man who unexpectedly passed away in May 2021.
“I did this as a special request for a fan who wanted to share it with the parents of a friend and community leader who passed away suddenly. I know that Dire Straits Blog like this song, so I thought I’d share this in case you were interested,” he said.
“Typically I don’t put really guitar-heavy songs up on consecutive days, but I made a special exception today as a favor and special request. Anyway, this is a great song and I hope it helps bring a little peace in some way,” Jake added.
Jake has also added that CM Wood in Oklahoma was a good friend of his YouTube channel. He asked him to hire to do this song in honor of his friend and a pillar of the community Scot Hudson, who passed away unexpectedly in May 2021.
“He wanted to send the song to the parents. I never want to make money that way, so I said that I’d just record it,” he finished.
