Another great drawn portrait of Mark Knopfler is coming straight from Istanbul, Turkey. As we already know, Mark Knopfler as a living legend of Rock music is an idol to the youngest population. He is the inspiration of many musicians and artists around the world. His music makes people create great things. A similar case is it with the young girl and student from Istanbul, Turkey – Shume who with her ambition she made a portrait of her idol Mark Knopfler.
Shume is a 20-years-old student at “Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University” which is a Turkish state university dedicated to the higher education of fine arts. She studies textile and fashion design, but she is also perfect in drawing and painting.
For Dire Straits Blog she said: “My name is Süme. I’m 20 years old and I live in Istanbul. I’ve been drawing since I was little. I draw things I love and admired or things I can’t say out loud and much more. This makes me relieve. And this is the only way to tell about myself. So, here is my Mark Knopfler drawing. I love Dire Straits, especially Mark’s guitar playing style and the way he sings. I think this drawing is the way to say I love him so much.”
