Below is the full footage from the concert by Dire Straits from Dortmund, Germany performed in Westfalenhallen. On that concert, Dire Straits performed a total of nine songs including “Once Upon a Time in the West,” “Down to the Waterline,” “Lions,” “News,” “Sultans of Swing,” “Tunnel of Love,” “Solid Rock,” and an intro extract from “The Carousel Waltz.”
On the stage were Mark Knopfler leading guitar and vocals, John Illsley on the bass guitar and vocals, Pick Withers which had a phenomenal drum performance, Hal Lindes guitar and vocals, and Alan Clark on the keyboards and piano.
The interesting part of this concert is that Mark Knopfler dedicated the song “News” to John Lennon who unfortunately has died 11 days before this concert on December 8, 1980.
Also, just before the song “Tunnel of Love” has started, Mark Knopfler played on the piano. You can catch it and see it that at (40:29) in the video below.
The whole footage of this concert is absolutely perfect, the sound is very clear and you can enjoy it to the maximum.
