After we learned how to make the ‘Water of Love’ cocktail with the Local Heroes No. 3 Portobello Gin, we are going on and we would like to teach you how to make another Dire Straits cocktail.
On the list is the second Dire Straits cocktail, named after the classic hit song ‘Romeo and Juliet’. Because like the star-crossed lovers in Shakespeare’s tragedy the ingredients of both this drink and this gin don’t easily unite.
It is essentially a gin sour but with an extra layer of flavor and texture from the unusual addition of olive oil, which is also one of the ingredients used in the distillation of Local Heroes No. 3 gin.
“Romeo and Juliet” is one of the most loved of Mark’s songs, it featured on the 1980 album Making Movies and reached number 8 in the UK chart when it was released as a single in 1981.
