On April 20, 1985, Dire Straits has entered into the UK singles chart with their first single released from the Brothers in Arms album, “So Far Away.”

This song was the lead single from Brothers in Arms album in the UK and Europe on April 8, 1985.

“So Far Away” as a song by Dire Straits made an incredibly positive impact on the people and fans. The song charted at the No.20 in the UK and also reached the Top 5 in Norway which was on position No.4.

In Switzerland, this song was in the first Top 10 Songs on position No.6, in Sweden No.7, as well as in Italy the song reached No.33 on a Top 40 Songs. In Australia “So Far Away” was released and peaked the No.22.
