Jimi Hendrix was born on November 27, 1942. He became one of the most influential guitarists in history before his death at the age of 27 in 1970.

Jimi would have been 77 years old today. It is hard to believe. He died when he was only 27, so he’s eternally young in our minds. But in his short time here on the planet, he sure made an impact. Even kid’s way too young to remember Jimi Hendrix not only know about him, but they respect him. And how many guitarists dream to be like Jimi Hendrix?

Jimi is born on November 27, 1942, in Seattle, Washington, USA. He began to play on guitar at the age of 15. Hendrix earned three UK top ten hits with the Jimi Hendrix Experience: “Hey Joe”, “Purple Haze”, and “The Wind Cries Mary”.

He also achieved fame in the US after his performance at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967. Hendrix’s most commercially successful released album was Electric Ladyland his third and final studio album, he reached number one in the US with that album back in 1968.

Jimi was the world’s highest-paid performer and he headlined the Woodstock Festival in 1969 and the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970. Unfortunately, he died in London, UK, from barbiturate-related asphyxia on September 18, 1970, at the age of 27.

Jimi’s music will live on forever, and somehow, it makes him live on as well. Happy Birthday to Jimi Hendrix, hopefully making music from another dimension.
