March 30, 1945, is the day when the famous English guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and producer Eric Clapton born.
If you’re a fan of the rock and roll music, you should know that he’s been compared to God, because of his talent for guitar playing and the way he has making the music in his own style. Eric is one of the greatest names in the genre of rock and blues.
The truth about Eric is that he grew up believing his mother was his sister. His grandparents never legally adopted him but remained his legal guardians until 1963. Eric was raised in a musical household. His grandmother played piano and his uncle and mother both enjoyed listening to the sounds of the big bands. Pat later told Eric’s official biographer, Ray Coleman, that his father was a gifted musician, playing piano in several dance bands.
However, Clapton has an interesting biography and it is really good to know something more about him. If you are really a fan of him, you can read his biography book or just watch his documentary film Eric Clapton: Life in 12 Bars.

Another important artist/guitarist is born on this day. Namely, Tracy Chapman is born in 1964, and today is her 56th birthday. Tracy is known by her hits songs “Fast Car”, “Give Me One Reason”, along with other singles as “Talkin’ ‘bout a Revolution”, “Baby Can I Hold You”, “Crossroads” and many more. She is a multi-platinum and four-time Grammy Award-winning artist.
Chapman has one of the best voices of her generation and is no slouch on the six-string either. Clapton is one of the greatest guitarists to ever live and doesn’t have such a bad voice himself. When you combine the two, they make a dynamic duo that will leave you wondering why they didn’t collaborate more often.
You shouldn’t need a reason to listen to “Give Me One Reason,” but if you’re looking for an excuse, today is your day. Enjoy!
