David Knopfler is one of the founders of the British rock group Dire Straits. In 1977 together with his brother Mark Knopfler, John Illsley and Pick Withers the band enjoyed great success around the world and sold more than 120 million records. Since then their names have stood for quality in the music industry.
David left the band after only three years and started his own solo career. In 2018, Dire Straits were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH, USA. Since leaving the band, the 67-year-old musician released dozens of albums, and he recently released two new studio albums called “Heartlands” from June 2019 and “Last Train Leaving” from January 2020.
His “Heartlands” album gives the name of the current European Tour for 2020. David’s new album will follow the best on this tour. The musician is also supported by Harry Bogdanovs a multi-instrumentalist who worked on numerous projects with various artists over the course of his career. The best known include John Farnham, Elton John, The Shadows and Marius Müller -Westernhagen. With them, he recorded and produced a number of hits. Harry is playing on guitars, piano as well as on backing vocals.
In the early 1980s, the permanent collaboration between Harry Bogdanovs and David Knopfler began. To this day, they are working together from the start of David Knopfler solo career. An autograph session will take place after the concert.
Heartlands European Tour will start on March 23, 2020, in Belgium, and after that from March to May David will perform around a bunch of cities in Germany. After that, he will go to England and will make another five concerts from 23rd May to the end of the month. Below is the picture with the map of the shows, as well as the dates and event locations.
