38 years ago Dire Straits on 23 February 1979 – they made first tour of the United States and Canada, opens at the Paradise Club in Boston.
The group logs 51 sold-out shows in 38 days. “Sultans of Swing” of the debut album scaled on the charts to the number 4 in the United States and number eight in the United Kingdom.
“Sultans of Swing” became one of the biggest hits of all time, and also song was the fixture in the band’s live performance in all shows. Bob Dylan who had seen the band play in Los Angeles, was so impressed that he invited Mark and Pick to play on his next album “Slow Train Coming”.
